This statue by Joe Fafard located in or near the Golden Square Mile district on Sherbrooke Street west seems to capture Emily covered on forehead, hat, and her right hand with a shade of light blue house paint, a medium she would have used because of her limited financial resources during one period of her life.

Emily Carr was a west coast artist, writer, and a contemporary of the famous Group of Seven, who once was forced to become a potter, janitor, landlady, and a subsistence urban farmer to survive.

Joseph Fafard, OC, SOM is a distinguished Canadian sculptor, whose main mediums originally were plaster and ceramics however, bronze is his primary now.
