The SNC-Lavalin corruption scandal rocking Canadian politics continues after three top ranking Liberals including the Canadian PM Justin Trudeau testified before the Liberal controlled “Justice Committee”.
Gerald Butts PM Trudeau’s best friend, chief political advisor and behind-the-scenes strategist, who resigned when this whole sorry affair started, craftily tried to change the narrative by stating it was all a matter of interpretation. Apparently, former attorney-general/justice minister Jody Wilson-Raybould failed to understand what was required of her and it was all a series miscommunications that led to her resigning.
Straight-faced Butts started off by saying he was providing the truth as he knew it and didn’t want to condemn or offend Jody continuing meanwhile, his veiled attack on her credibility interrupted with speech about loss of 9000 good paying SNC jobs afterwards, a minimum of 9000 jobs that must be protected..yadda, yadda, yadda..
The next wise guy was Michael Wernick, Canada’s top civil servant, who continued the Liberal defense that Jody Wilson-Raybould got it all wrong and that nobody pressured her about her final decision regarding SNC Lavalin and those alleged 9000 jobs that may be lost..blah, blah, blah..
After these two loyalists it was Justin Trudeau who finally appeared early Thursday morning on national television to apologize however, there was none for his former minister instead he mirrored some of Butts testimony about how this whole thing, and how the misunderstanding would not have happened if.. Again, the 9000 SNC Lavalin jobs must be protected, and he was leaving to apologize up North to the Inuits regarding government abuses from earlier times..Jobs, his gooberment’s top priority blah, blah..sorry gotta go!
Incidentally, Trudeau never left because of a big storm in the area he was to visit instead, he travelled there today!
SNC-Lavalin’s attempt to avoid full prosecution with recent Liberal law of “deferred prosecution” was struck down in Federal Court on Friday 8/03/2019 reaffirming former minister Jody Wilson-Raybould position that triggered the whole affair.
Tune in tomorrow, as the stomach turns, the saga continues!
