Metallic fret on brake component is very obvious in this picture of a unit removed from an automobile because of its failure due to improper installation by allegedly certified garage.

In addition to being noisy the set of brake pads improperly installed also fractured and came apart from its corroded metallic base fortunately the owner had the sense to thoroughly check out his brakes before a serious mishap happened on road.

Normally, when automobile brakes wear down to the metallic base is when metal to metal noise in addition to chatter occur however, in this case the ceramic-type brake pads show they have very limited wear yet are finished.

Noticeable persistent noise coming from car’s front brakes only short time after a brake job done at local garage alerted car owner to verify state of brakes and finding the problem.

This is my contribution for WP single word prompt:”FRET”.
