Designer label perfume like designer label clothing and other personal stuff including luxury cars, motorcycles and trucks are allegedly made to higher standards than regular run-of-the-mill consumer commodities.
Many consumers in our society consider designer labels something only the refined few could afford regularly and that having these items raises their own personal status amongst their peers or society in general.
Using an exclusive brand name perfume, wearing upgrade tagged clothing including undergarments and socks or stockings, and shoes sends the message to everyone you know or just casually know that you spent more than required to be distinct because as that famous radio ad line says “you’re worth it!”
The modern ‘designer’ era is a derivative of the early great exhibitions in London in the middle of the 19th century highlighting measure and diversity of machine-made goods.
My picture depicts a few well-known designer brand named perfumes including cologne, a lighter, diluted, less concentrated interpretation of perfume some say originated in Cologne, Germany although originally formulated by an Italian-born perfume chemist in early 18th century.
The cologne is Lauren by Ralph Lauren, a Bronx(New York city) born Jewish-American billionaire entrepreneur, whose corporation originated in exclusive garments bearing the very popular “Polo” name afterwards branching out into ladies fragrances under the “Lauren” name and then men’s under “Polo”.
The fancy dark bottle of perfume labeled “Outspoken by Fergie” is an Avon product incorporating a popular feminine personality, actress, and recording artist Fergie Duhamel, to push their products intended for younger women.
The other perfumes shown in my picture are just interesting containers used as background while the jewelry in the foreground combined with the pitch black completes the sophisticated look you probably would expect in a “designer” magazine’s pictures.
This my contribution for WP single word prompt:”PERFUME”.
