Two years ago weather for the Montreal en Lumiere winter festival’s fast, twisting, ice slide would zip a plastic toboggan and passenger down the track at high-speed as depicted in the picture.
February is usually a bitter, cold month with lots of wind ideal for ice tracks like this one ensuring a very slippery surface and coupled with gravity helps a toboggan or similar transporter move along at a good clip down the slide.
This particular day in February 2015 was very cold and bright and I remember seeking shelter at the nearby Place Complexe Desjardins shopping mall to warm up my hands and face to avoid suffering the effects of frostbite moreover, my digital camera needed warming up too because battery power seemed to fade after a lengthy exposure to the extreme cold outside.
That day I also carried extra batteries to ensure my camera would work and this paid off during the course of my shoot that provided lots of interesting images some that have made their way onto this blog.
