Grey squirrel remains motionless crouched in contemplative pause after coming face-to-face with photographer, ready to sprint and escape at the slightest sign of danger to it.
I was admiring the architecture of Montreal’s famous Saint Patrick’s Cathedral downtown after having walked east from another famous church and landmark Mary Queen of the World Cathedral, when our paths crossed triggering me to take this picture.
Our unexpected meeting happened because I had left Rene Levesque boulevard from where I was doing my admiring, entered through the open gate and walked south into the large parking lot.
I walked around a bit doing a bit reconnoitering and I found the front entrance to the church at which point I headed towards the large door when this little fellow scooted up onto a low ledge made up of grey stone on which a black painted wrought iron fence was and paused looking at me.
In his sort of crouched position, resting totally immobile, he observed my every move providing me a wonderful chance to make this excellent portrait of him.
This my contribution for WP single word prompt:”PAUSE”.
