Smoke eater action was already in progress when I happened by to catch it all after noticing firetrucks parked to block any incoming or outgoing traffic on Monkland Avenue in NDG.
There was excitement in the air as dozens of interested local citizens and passersby stood across the street trying to get a better view of it.
Apparently, the fire was spreading quickly when the fire department arrived soon after the fire alarm went off to contain it to the third floor of the semi-commercial building where it all began before extinguishing it.
Damage to the building was extensive however, fortunately it could all be restored after insurance money was paid out following an investigation into the cause of the fire.
My picture was taken at least two decades ago in NDG (Notre-Dame-de-Grace), an area that today is very trendy yet then was just a regular ordinary main street in this Montreal borough.
This is my contribution for WP single word prompt:”SMOKE”.
