A child’s ancient child’s hand wagon littered with dried grass clippings rested in midst of other old discarded stuff.
Items like wooden work horses, a paint can lid, bits of concrete, paint chips, a green drink straw, cigarette butts, a piece of paper, and dried tree seeds and leave bits were inside the community center’s refuse enclosure along with it.
It was an old worn wooden wagon made of 3/4 inch boards now devoid of the original paint finish it had held together by rusty iron pieces everything sitting on a couple of rusty axles sporting four rusty wheels mounted with crumpling thin black rubber tires.
The old wooden pull handle had long been replaced by a round aluminium tube integrated to the old original rusty y-shaped hinge attached to the front axle meanwhile, the old pull handle replaced by what looks like a piece of straight black plastic tubing pulled over the aluminum tube.
This old wagon is probably from the turn of the last century however, most likely it is from the 1940’s or 1950’s before the North American toy market received its first cheap imports from Asia.
This my contribution for WP single word prompt:”ANCIENT”.
