A real F1 formula racer with slick mags rested right in front of the Ritz Carlton Hotel a few days before last year’s Grand Prix. This was the Red Bull “energy drink” sponsored competition car and it certainly looked impressive with its buffed two-tone blue and grey paint job with the short purple, red, and white banner stripes running from front to back of the car.
Decorating its “blower” intake for the high performance Renault engine it had a large Red Bull logo highlighted with bright white merging with bright yellow paint towards the car front. Bright white lettering covered this racer all over the place complimented with a bit of red lettering.
I took this photo while walking along Sherbrooke Street heading West after walking up and down two other streets running at right angles to Sherbrooke. What I saw were exhibits of many exotic, expensive, sports cars with well-known names such as Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, Mercedes, lotus, just to name a few. Additionally, to compliment the cars were exhibits of companies that produce a myriad of accessories for these expensive cars.
Then there were the various energy drink, beer, and fast food kiosks competing for passersby’ pocket change. Last but not least, were the various cellphone company, and also the computer game kiosks. Most every exhibitor had their troupe of young lovelies encouraging passersby with free samples and trinkets such as key chains or logo pins.
I also saw several local radio stations that had their own broadcasting kiosks and there were even a couple of TV station people doing live interviews with local celebrities or even passersby while their TV cameras recorded it all.
Montreal’s 2015 Grand Prix slated this year for the June 5-6-7 weekend so come one come all Montreal welcomes you to a wonderful time.
